100 WORD CHALENGE POLLY

My race was about to begin when……
the Olympic mascot, Wenlock came waddling on to the running track shouting,
“Come on Polly we can do this girl, we are in it to win it!”
I was so embarrassed, my face turned hot and sticky and probably went bright red. I didn’t no what to but because I was an Olympic runner I just looked away and got into my starting position.321goooooooooo.
I was doing a sprinting race so it wouldn’t be too long then I could go and speak to that naughty Wenlock. I was so distracted that I was loosing. Oh well it is not about winning.

Oh Polly, wouldn’t that be awful if it really happened? I do agree that it is often the taking part that matters as much as winning, although I’m sure our Team GB Olympians do want to win this year! I like the way you have described your feelings – the adjectives paint the picture of your embarrassment very well. Don’t forget how to spell ‘know’ – it’s the one with the silent k.
I like your story it grabbed my attention!
