The Lighthouse remake! Molly
One dark stormy night, a lighthouse stood in the middle of Butterthorn manor, people drinking, people chatting and a old scared man sat in his chair writing his diary. That night there was a power cut, it was thought to be the longest power cut, in history.
The noise outside from all of the villagers were too loud for the old man so he slammed his window, trying not to get mad. A few minutes later, the wind was so heavy that it blew the old crackled window open again and the candle went out.
The old man wanted to know what the bang was, he bent down to get a lantern, ran up the spiral stairs and….
Knocked over the lighthouse lens and it smashed to smithereens. The man was worried because the boat was sailing towards the lighthouse, the man couldn’t direct it. All worried and scared, the man ran downstairs and all he could see was people coming towards him with lampshades. He turned around and saw the sailors walking as well with lampshades.

Welldone Molly! I like your opening sentence ‘…people drinking, people chatting and an old scared man sat in his chair writing his diary.’ Great!
You have used embedded clauses and ellipsis which enhances your writing; I think the only thing that you could improve is the ending. Perhaps you could give a resolution or ask a question.
That is long but super dooper!!!
