Book review

The water tower

Gary Crew

The watertower is a 1994 children’s picture book by the author Gary Crew and illustrated by Steven Woolman.

It takes place in Preston Beach, Western Australia.

On a summer afternoon two boys go to a water tower for a swim.

The book has a lot of speech to describe the story, which is an interesting way.

A good word that was changed was summit.

It could have more adverbs and possibly a simile to make it interesting.

This is a strange but interesting book. The book leaves a lot unsaid and that’s what makes you wonder about what’s really happening in the town.
